Planting roots in the town of Lifford, Gracie and Sebastian, along with their companions, find normalcy and balance. However, due to the curse on Jack’s staff during their previous adventure, the need to head to the country of Vayle becomes dire. There in Roselake, Vayle lies the only means to break the curse: Dwarves. While all this is happening, Gracie experiences mind intrusions from a bond reaching out and discovers that this bond is a dragon seeking help in defending his wing in the mountains of Nile from dragon hunters. The four are ready to aid the dragons, but the air shifts, and after an aggressive thunderstorm, Sebastian’s magic begins to misbehave. They think the worst. Nothing comes without obstacles or tragedies, does it? The outcome is one they didn’t foresee.

Excerpt – Chapter 29
“In case something were to happen, I just wanted to let you know how truly in love I am with you. I’ve never been in love before, but I know this is it. I don’t think I could ever imagine a life without you, and the thought of losing you makes me crumble inside. One day, I will marry you. Even if you reject me like in Leviston. I will ask until you say yes. That is what you mean to me.” He rubbed the back of his head coyly. “I didn’t mean to dump this on you.”
Gracie narrowed her eyes at him. “Don’t be predicting us losing now,” she chided as she relaxed her shoulders, losing the fight to keep the seriousness as she smiled at him. “I did mention marrying you and recall rejecting you. The rejection was with good intentions. You weren’t in the right mindset. So, the idea that you think I would continuously deny you is barbaric. You were the fool who wanted to marry immediately once you realized my intentions to leave Ethlyn.”
“You’re not going to let me live that down, are you?”
She shook her head and then winked. “Not a chance,” she laughed. “But I do love you. Really, in love. The last person I’ve ever imagined myself with, but I wouldn’t trade it for anyone else.” She shrugged. “Guess that’s how love works.”
“Through thick and thin, right? That’s what they say, I think?” he said, more of a question to himself. His smile faltered as he cleared his throat. “I need you to promise me something.”
Another statement that made her stomach drop. Her expression mimicked his as she looked away. “For?” she quietly asked, hesitantly.
“Promise me you’ll do it if it happens,” he said.
